According to xAI, Grok-2 and Grok-2 mini are now available on X in beta. Launched by Canadian-American businessman and investor, Elon Reeve Musk, both Grok-2 and Grok-2 mini are live with improved reasoning.
The Grok AI has the ability to generate images on Musk’s X social network with access granted to Premium and Premium+ users only.
According to a blog post by xAI concerning Grok-2, “We are excited to release an early preview of Grok-2, a significant step forward from our previous model Grok-1.5, featuring frontier capabilities in chat, coding, and reasoning. At the same time, we are introducing Grok-2 mini, a small but capable sibling of Grok-2. An early version of Grok-2 has been tested on the LMSYS leaderboard under the name “sus-column-r”,”
TechCrunch reports that Musk’s AI Company is also planning to make both models available to developers through its enterprise API later this month.
Several early users disclosed that Grok uses FLUX.1 by Black Forest Labs to make its images.
Researchers and critics reviewed the new AI feature and capabilities saying Grok 2 does better at code generation, news, and writing.
These researchers suggested a limit on image generation so that Grok will not be used as a tool for harmful purposes or misinformation on social networks.
The emergence of Grok 2 may lead to more AI features on X such as improved search capabilities, post analytics, and reply functions, TechCrunch wrote.
